It is also a momentous occasion that signifies the beginning of their academic pursuit in the field of journalism, media and communication.

While the students are excited about their formal welcome into the prestigious monotechnic, they are equally tensed knowing that examination starts on Thursday.

Higher National Diploma (HND) 1 student, Giwa Oluwatunmininu, stated that she looks forward to the ceremony.

“I have planned to put on my best ouftit, take pictures with family and friends,” Oluwatunmininu revealed.

Blessing Emmanuel, who will also be involved in the matriculation ceremony as HND 1 student expressed mixed feelings owing to the commencement of examination the next day.

Her words: “I’m pretty excited but also a bit on the edge about the matriculation tomorrow. Knowing we have exams the next day is something I never expected from the school. I feel like the matriculation won’t be as fun as it should be since students are not really focusing on that at all.”

Dignitaries and veterans within journalism and media industry are expected to grace the occasion, providing an inspiring backdrop for the newly matriculated students.

The ceremony will also feature speeches from the management/administrators of the school, offering words of encouragement and wisdom to the budding journalists.
