The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has launched the first edition of the ARCON Journal of Advertising and Marketing Communications (AJAMC).
This journal aims to make academic research more accessible to industry professionals and enhance knowledge in the advertising field.
The launch of the journal took place during the Advertising Industry Colloquium 2.0, themed
“Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Advertising Education and Practice in Nigeria,” on June 27, 2024, at the Sheba Event Centre in Lagos.
The Director General of ARCON; Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, FCA, Fnimn, frpa described the journal as a significant development.
He noted that the journal will bridge the gap between academic research and industry case studies.
Fadolapo also highlighted the international contributions to the journal and its future role as a key resource for research and presentations.
Professor Pate Umar, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Kashere, on his part, emphasized the importance of maintaining the journal’s credibility and quality.
Meanwhile, Femi Adelusi, Former President of MIPAN, noted that the journal could help test industry policies and decisions from a research perspective.
Professor Rotimi Olatunji, the journal’s editor-in-chief, also averred that the AJAMC aims to be the most authoritative journal on the African continent. He confirmed that the journal featured contributions from top professors and industry professionals.
