Celebration in the air, as the Nigerian Institute of Journalism [NIJ], Ogba, Lagos, commences its annual students’ week on Monday, July 7,for the year, 2025.
NIJ students’ week is a yearly program, where lectures are pegged for students to celebrate joyfully, throughout the week. It consists different segments and programs, daily.
The long awaited and most anticipated week,tagged; The Wave 2.5, begins colorfully with students of the Entrepreneurship class exhibit products and skills acquired, for sales.
However, classes exhibited are; beads making, barbing, catering, make-up, fashion designing among others.
Mrs Bamishe, the lecturer in-charge as well as Mrs Felicia Fadairo along sides some facilitators move around, commencing and scoring the students according to their displayed goods and services.
Further more, the career day seminar began, featuring experts in journalism and digital world, addressing the students on the topic; transforming leadership through media in digital era.
A panel of speakers; Damilola Dawson, Moyosoreoluwa Elesho-Otefia and so on; took addressed questions of students pertaining to; how to use content creation to shape the public, how to stand out among other digital experts.
The seminar ends with gifts to random students and a vote of thanks from the students’ week event committee.
Additionally, other programs happening during the week are; Ojude NIJ, sports day, pageantry, dinner night and so on.
