Eid-El-Kabir holiday: Classes resume June 9

The Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba, Lagos, has announced the suspension of all academic and administrative activities following the declaration of Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays by the Federal Government in celebration of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir Festival.

In a statement issued on Friday by the Registrar’s Office, the institution stated that there will be no lectures or official duties throughout the holiday period. Part-time students have also been informed that lectures scheduled for Saturday, June 7, will not be held.

 

According to the notice signed by Mrs. Esther Eke, on behalf of the Registrar, academic activities will resume for full-time students on Tuesday, June 10, while part-time students are expected to return on Friday, June 13, 2025.

 

“The Management of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism wishes all students, staff, and the general public a peaceful and joyful celebration,” the statement read.

 

Eid-el-Kabir, is one of the most significant holidays in the Muslim calendar, marked by prayers, feasting, and acts of charity.
