The Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) is the leading institution for journalism education in Nigeria, dedicated to training journalists and professionals in the field. It offers a range of programs, including National Diploma, Higher Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma, specialized courses, and short-term certificate programs.

What sets the Nigerian Institute of Journalism apart is its emphasis on hands-on learning. The Institute offers practical experience across all its programs, supported by a team of seasoned lecturers, including both academic experts and practicing professionals. The state-of-the-art facilities include fully equipped journalism labs, an ICT hub with 24/7 internet access, a radio and TV studio, an editing laboratory, and a photo studio.

 

Located in Ogba, Lagos, NIJ continues to be a key player in journalism education. On March 5, 2025, it welcomed a new intake of 307 students, marking an important milestone in their academic journeys as they embark on their paths to becoming accomplished journalists and media professionals.
