James and Jones Nursery and Primary School made history on March 6, 2025, by hosting its first-ever inter-house sports competition, 29 years after its establishment.
The highly anticipated event took place at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism premises, Ogba, where five houses—Yellow, Green, Red, Blue, and Purple—competed in various track and field events.

Echoing her sentiments, Mrs. Stephen, a teacher at the school, emphasized the significance of such competitions in reinforcing the school’s values and attracting prospective students.
“The preparation was demanding, but it was all worth it. Events like this help us highlight our school’s spirit and excellence,” she stated.
Both pupils and alumni were excited to be part of the historic occasion. Awodumila Babalola, a former student now in university, expressed his delight at the school’s progress.
“I never got to experience this during my time here, but I’m thrilled to see the school moving forward. It’s a great step!” he remarked.
At the end of the competition, Green House emerged as the overall champion, with Red House and Blue House securing second and third places, respectively.
The event was a testament to the school’s dedication to fostering physical education, teamwork, and sportsmanship among its pupils.
