The Students’ Representative Council President of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Oluwatosin Awelewa has advised his colleagues to utilise the holiday for adequate rest in preparation for second semester.

Awelewa also enjoined the students to be mentally ready ahead of resumption for the remainder of the 2023/2024 academic session.

He explained that lots of activities ranging from academic to extra-curricular activities such as students week will require the participation of every students.

“Students need to take this time to rest and also access themselves on where they got things right, where they got things wrong so as to perform better in this coming semester,” Awelewa stated.

The Students Affairs Officer (SAO) of the monotechnic, Mrs. Eke Esther on Wednesday, March 27 announced that resumption for second semester is slated for Monday, April 8, 2024.

Despite students’ complaints about the short duration of the break, the president maintains that the time is sufficient for them to achieve adequate rest and prepare for the ‘workload’ awaiting them.
