Agony as NIJ Staffers grieve Mrs. Bola Christiana’s death

On Thursday, February 29th, 2024, the Nigerian Institute of Journalism bid farewell to a beloved member of their staff, Mrs. Bola Christiana. After serving NIJ for an impressive 28 years, Mrs. Christiana unfortunately passed away, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and hard work.

Starting as an account clerk, Mrs. Christiana’s commitment and diligence led to numerous promotions throughout her career. She worked with several provosts during her time at NIJ, earning the admiration and respect of her colleagues. Known for her kind and easy-going nature, Mrs. Bola Christiana was well-loved by the NIJ staff.

In interviews with two lecturers and a student, it was evident that Mrs. Christiana had made a lasting impact on those around her. Mr. Nathaniel described her as a prophetess, someone who spoke with wisdom and integrity. Mrs. Odum praised her straightforwardness and her belief in the unity of all people, regardless of their tribe. Ayomide Soremekun, an HND2 broadcast option student, shared that Mrs. Christiana was not only nice but also incredibly accommodating, always ready to help find solutions to people’s problems.

On this day, the entire NIJ community came together to bid farewell to Mrs. Bola Christiana Ella as she embarked on her heavenly journey. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
