The captain of Higher National Diploma (HND) 2 team, Richard Avonda has said that his side will win the ongoing Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) students’ league.

Avonda expressed confidence maintaining that HND 2 remains favourite for the title, considering their unbeaten run.

According to him, they go into every game with the mindset of winning because the synergy is top-notch and it has been working.

The sports director also revealed that his team has been oozing a lot confidence following a 2-1 victory over the part-timers in the opening game of the tournament.

HND 2 currently tops the league standings with 13 points, having won four times and secured a draw in 5 games, while HND 1 sits second on 8 points after playing same number of games.

Recall that the part-timers pipped HND 1, now final year students 3-2 to lift the trophy in the 2022/2023 session.
